Abstract

The present work proposes a systematic for the design of control systems for the main armament of tanks. Initially, a state-space model is elaborated that represents the dynamics of the movement of the armament of the tank. The referred model allows to treat the flexibility of the tube, when dismembering it in rigid bodies connected by an equivalent spring and viscous damper. Then, the control system is designed via the technique, associated with Powell’s optimization technique, capable of meeting specified design time requirements. The synthesized controller is then tested by simulating the tank through a standard RRC9 test track. The results show that the methodolog y employed is capable of achieving the proposed objectives.
