Multiculturalism: Going beyond simply respecting cultural diversity to understand the academic concept
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article aims to present the theoretical foundation that anchors the perceptions, concerns and cultural problematizations that have always permeated the different universes and civil and, especially, military segments of society, starting from the research I conducted in the doctorate course at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, at the Faculty of Education, in 2009, to scientifically support those who seek to understand how cultural dimensions are impacting operational scenarios today. Thus, I seek to present multiculturalism as a theoretical-methodological concept to those whose crystallized belief in the ideal of homogeneity does not allow to overcome the barriers that prevent the recognition and appreciation of the possibilities of success of organizations and multicultural forces.
