Abstract

The article aims at describing the historical process that led to the formation of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and their current situation, focusing on the local and regional challenges they have to face, such as the confessionalist tenets that guide the Lebanese state and the impacts of the Syrian war over Lebanon.
