Abstract

Classic War`s Studies by Clausewitz embased military doctrine definitions for almost two centuries, and nowadays has been very criticized since Cold War end. Academics doubt about Clausewitz`s Paradigma and try to update the knowledge about war. Among these new studies, there is The Fourth Generation Warfare Theory, developed by Willian Lind in 1989. This paper aims to analise how The Fourth Generation Warfare Theory could be applied to describe warfare conflicts after Cold War end. The methodology of this paper is a Fourth Generation Warfare Theory theoric exam, looking at the Second Gulf War in 2003 with the objective to certify if The Fourth Generation Warfare Theory is a consistant theoretical model to define new doctrines of armed forces applicability.
