Abstract

In this work, two tire models are depicted: the Julien’s Theory (JT) and the Pacejka’s Magic Formula (MF). A full car model, used to simulate the longitudinal vehicle dynamics, was implemented by using MatLab/Simulink®, employing the Bond Graph theory. The optimization methods: Random Restricted Window
(R2W) and Gradient Conjugate (GC) are used to estimate the parameters of the JT model. Accuracy, computational time, efficiency and efficacy of the models are compared regarding the behavior of
the performance responses of the vehicle. The results show that the studied models are equivalent.
