Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze nanocom-posites of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) with the addition of boron carbite in different proportions. The specimens were produced using a hydaulic press with heating and were ana-lyzed in x-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimeter and their surfaces were observed using a microscope. It was noticed the in-crease of the crystallite, reduction of the degree of crystallinity and a more fluid matrix after the addition of the carbite.
