Abstract

The present research had the purpose to establish a set of doctrinaire regulations, ranging from fundamentals to the employment during covering force operations, that could regulate direct fire in the anti-tank combat, regarding the anti-tank cavalry squadron subordinate to the mechanized cavalry brigade. To achieve this purpose, based on a documental collection, the observation of a tactical simulation exercise at the 17th Mechanized Cavalry Regiment, in 2020, the participation in a company sized anti-tank symposium held at South Military Command – 2020 also interviews with personnel experienced with the subject. National and international trustworthy sources were used. In this effort, at first, anti-tank direct fire potential influencing details were identified, in the context of a covering force operation and at a second moment, starting from a comparative review from national, north american and spanish doctrinal support, related to the use of anti-tank direct fire, a study was conducted to find the existence of a methodological and conceptual alignment regarding direct fire in anti-tank combat. As a conclusion, it has noted that national
regulations need an update and therefore, a set of regulations has been proposed, which intend to guide direct fire planning and control, especially in anti-tank issues.
It is believed that from now on new research may be developed and experiments shall be conducted.
