Abstract

The present articleaimed to analyze the effects of the lift surface geometry in the calculation of its induced drag. For this purpose, the flow around a 3D airfoil was simulated, at the influence of pressure distribution on the bell-shaped. The results of the efforts and yaw moments from different attack angles was compared with ones fromtraditional elliptical pressure distribution, proving the appearance of the proverse yaw with a consequent decrease oy induced drag.
