Abstract

The research seeks to generate areas of influence in order to determine locations where the performance of one generating point is dominant in relation to the others. For this, the technique developed by Huff is adapted, specifically with regard to the calculation of the cost of displacement and the establishment of the
parameter , in order to eliminate the empiricism used by Huff. The methodology begins with the application of Reilly’s Law to identify equilibrium points between each pair of generator points. Later, considering an equal influence on these points, applies to Huff Act adapted in order to develop an adjustment, the parametric model, the linearized equations, considering the cost of proportional offset the Euclidean distance. The result of the adjustment is the valuation of the parameter λ responsible for weighing the displacement cost. Having the Act adapted Huff and its consistent implementation, is carried an evaluation of the results by Similarity Cartographic Index (CSI) in order to compare the methodology developed with traditional methods of Voronoi and Reilly. Finally, the feasibility of the methodology developed to obtain areas of influence is verified
