Abstract

This research aims to present the possibilities and limitations of the use of Armoured Engineer Vehicle in support of Civil Defense in the area of the Brazilian Southern Military Command. In order to increase the effectiveness of the 5th BE CmbBld and the 12th BE CmbBld, which are the Units that owned this kind of vehicle and are territorially located in the Southern Region, it is necessary to define the types of natural disasters that are most frequent in this region and in what way the Armoured Engineer Vehicle can be employed, taking into account their characteristics and preparation of the militaries for this type of support. Since the case study may be considered representative of many others, case studies have been made in which the German and used Canadian Army were employed to support the civilian defenses of their countries and used Armoured Engineer Vehicle with the aim of increasing prompt response. In this way, the
present work sought to analyze the main natural disasters that affect the Brazilian South Region and to identify the main possibilities and limitations in the use of the Armoured Engineer Vehicle (VBE Eng) and Armoured Vehicle- Launched Bridge (VBE L Pnt). After the studies carried out, a manual was proposed to instruct the use of Armored Engineering Vehicles in support of Civil Defense.
