Abstract

This study aims to present the use of different

free hardware, Software Defined Radios (RDS),

to the location of electromagnetic emissions.

Therefore, bibliographical research was carried

out in order to identify different systems that

use different techniques for Electronic

Localization (Loc Elt). Two systems were

studied, the first characterized by the Time

Difference of Arrival (TDOA) technique, and the

other that employs the Angle of Arrival (AOA)

technique with interferometry, and location

identification based on the signal strength, with

a mobile receiver system. To demonstrate the

systems, use, the second system mentioned

above was set up and configured, thus making

possible to determine the direction of emission.

We emphasize the low cost, high flexibility and

low complexity of the systems presented here,

which can increase the Army's Electronic

Warfare System (SIGELEx) and Brazilian Army

combat capacity.
