Abstract

This work deals on the proposalof a physical based formulation to represent the resisting force in a modeling of internal ballistics using a lumped parameter approach. The model's parameters were adjusted through the solution of an inverse problem carried out in order to meet a reference behavior to the chamber pres-sure as function of the projectile’s position. The results were considered adequate, and regarding the reference behavior to the M80 cartridge in a 24 inch barrel, the proposed formulation is more accurate than the one which was its origin.
