Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aimed to analyze the impact on the final activities (doctrine) and support activity (instruction) under the Mechanized Cavalry Regiment due to the changes at the Armored Vehicle EE-9 Cascavel’s modernization. The relevance of the theme is observed from noticing that the alteration of a relatively new material will impact how to fight and how to train, according to the organizational cycle of the Brazilian Army. This study was developed from the collection of institutional documents, other federal government agencies and documents from the United States of America, France and Spain, as well as the Symposium of Mechanized Cavalry Brigade (2012) and the Symposium on Lessons Learned from the Guarani Vehicle (2015). It was possible to observe that the main changes awaited by the military that operated the Cascavel are the optics, command and control system and the revitalization of the firing system; such increments will allow better observation and direct fire conditions. It was found that the current doctrine contemplates these possibilities, lacking only small conceptual realignments. From
the comparison of the above-mentioned regiment instruction, other troops in the Army and the dynamics of the foreign troop cycle, it became evident that the integration between the instruction of variable and professional staff can be improved and partially combined. As a product of the research, recommendations were made on how to optimize the troop instruction methodology that allows for the integration of the crew and the feasibility against the phasing of the instruction year.
