An Analysis of The Risks of Dependence on Imported Electronic Components For Live Simulation Equipment in CA-Leste
Abstract
This article addresses the risks of dependence on imported electronic components for CA-Leste's (East Training Center) live simulation equipment, from the perspective of its relationship with risk management and life cycle management of simulation equipment for the Brazilian Army (EB). Through qualitative research, an exploratory research method and content analysis technique for the topic, the paper establishes conceptual bases that assesses the premises considered in the project and analyzes the risks of dependence on imported electronic components with a view to exploring mechanisms for the alignment of adequate levels of exposure to risks with the strategies adopted by the Brazilian Army, as well as assessing the possibility of increasing the Institution's capacity to deal with uncertainties and contribute to the efficient and effective use of public resources. Special attention is devoted to the role of Risk Management and Life Cycle, represented in this case by the two categories of content analysis. In this context, the Normative Directive of SSEB (Brazilian Army Simulation System) places significant emphasis on the management of Life Cycle Costs of simulation systems. This emphasis is evident in all analyses related to the topic, demonstrating the need for strict compliance with SSEB guidelines in this paper.
