Abstract

This paper presents a new quantitative prospective method for decision support in the field of Science, Technolog y and Innovation (STI). The main objective is to define a priority order for technologies in a specific field based on a multicriteria method known as Analytic Hieharchy Process (AHP). The idea is to use a new set of criteria that consider quantitative parameters related to the number of patent registers and to a measure of the alignment  between the technologies and the strategic goals of the organization seeking their prioritization. The final result is a listing of potential technologies  ordered according to indexes computed from weighting the partial scores obtained for each measurement criteria. It indicates the most promising  technologies considering their diffusion and alignment with the organization. The proposed method is applied in a case study for the Brazilian Army in the  field of carbon materials.
