Abstract

The admission of women into the Brazilian Army’s Combat Military Education Track (LEMB) has posed the challenge of ensuring equity in relation to physical performance without compromising the high standards required in the training of combat officers. The aim of this study was to investigate the neuromuscular performance of female cadets at the Military Academy of Agulhas Negras (AMAN) between 2023 and 2025, using official data, subjective perceptions, and analysis of the physical fitness assessments applied during the course. The methodology included a quantitative approach with a structured questionnaire administered to 100 cadets from the Ordnance and Quartermaster courses (2nd to 4th year), analysis of the Physical Fitness Tests (TAFs), and review of the proportionality criteria adopted by IPCFEx. The results indicated persistent difficulties in upper-limb strength exercises, particularly rope climbing without the use of the lower limbs and pull-ups. Although performance improved over the years, the data suggest insufficiency in the current methods of physical preparation. It is concluded that the consolidation of gender equity in military training, in relation to physical performance, requires specific pedagogical strategies, extended adaptation time, and adjustments in resistance training programs, grounded in scientific evidence.
