A Evolução da Operação de Abertura de Passagem no Exército Brasileiro até a 2ª Guerra Mundial

This article is intended to analyze the evolution of breaching operation in the Brazilian Army based on its experiences in war scenarios. The article derives from a Bachelor’s thesis of the Agulhas Negras Military Academy (AMAN). The objectives of the present paper are: to analyze the way the Army built its knowledge of breaching operations until the Second World War; which experiences in a war scenario showed the importance of the operation for the Force and which promoted the evolution of the operation for the Institution. An applied, descriptive research of qualitative approach was carried out, using a bibliographical review and documental selection, followed by analytical reading. The results obtained from the aforementioned research led to the conclusion that the learning about the breaching operation owes much to the war experiences lived by Brazilian soldiers throughout history, including the Second World War.
