  1. Basic Information

Revista Agulhas Negras (RAN) Journal is a semiannual publication of the Undergraduate Program in Military Sciences of the Academia Militar das Agulhas Negras (AMAN) / Escola Preparatória de cadets do Exército (EsPCEx). It is an academic, nonprofit journal, based on the open access policy to information, adopting an “online first” publication modality.

  • Periodicity: Semiannual;
  • Submission: Continuous flow;
  • Languages: Portuguese, English, and Spanish;
  • Review System: Double-blind peer review. Submissions are reviewed by at least one external reviewer, selected according to thematic affinity and/or expertise in the field of the manuscript under review;
  • Cost: Free.

RAN’s mission is to foster the development of Military Sciences through scientific dissemination. Its concentration area is Defense, with primary topics including (not restricited to):

  • Leadership

  1. Operation

The journal uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS), an open-source platform for managing and publishing journals, developed, supported, and distributed by the Public Knowledge Project under the GNU General Public License.

 

  1. Registration

Registration in the system, followed by login and password access, is mandatory for manuscript submission as well as for monitoring the editorial process in progress.

 

  1. Open Access

RAN is an open access journal, which means that all content is freely available at no cost to the user or their institution. Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles, or to use them for any other lawful purpose, without prior permission from the publisher or the author (see Ethics Statement, Item 7 — Copyright).

Immediate open access to content follows the principle that free public availability of scientific knowledge promotes greater global democratization of knowledge.

 

  1. Privacy Policy

The names and addresses provided in this journal will be used exclusively for the services offered by this publication and will not be made available for other purposes or to third parties.

 

  1. Archiving

All journal content is archived in the OJS system (CLOCKSS, LOCKSS) and through the Directory of Editorial Policies of Brazilian Scientific Journals (DIADORIM), blue category. Available at: DIADORIM.

 

  1. Content

The opinions expressed in papers are the sole responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Journal, AMAN, or EsPCEx. The Journal is not responsible for data cited from external sources. Unless expressly stated otherwise, full or partial reproduction of published materials is permitted provided the author and source are duly acknowledged.

The Journal accepts exchanges with national and international publications. The decision regarding the publication of submitted manuscripts rests with the Editors. Due to space limitations, the Editors may make minor changes to the original text, without altering its meaning or content.
