Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to discuss the hypotheses raised about the professional and academic profiles of graduates of technical courses integrated into high school (IEM) at IFNMG - Araçuaí campus. The research, based on empirical and descriptive approach, was carried out through an online questionnaire, applied to former students of integrated courses in Informatics and Environment, graduating between 2011 and 2018. The results show that most of the graduates of the courses IEM technicians, 73% (8), do not have a professional profile formed because they are not inserted in the world of work. This percentage is closely related to those who choose to continue their studies at the higher level, in undergraduate courses, given the support of families, who have better financial conditions, or seek scholarships, also due to the low remuneration received by the professional performance and the world view that the IF provides. This last factor was corroborated by 91% (10) of former students who intend to continue their studies after completing the technical course, due to incentives from teachers and the institution, according to observations of pedagogical activities carried out on campus. Therefore, this work proved to be important, because, through a data collection, it becomes possible to know the profile of the graduates trained in the institution in order to verify if the purpose of its implementation is being achieved, in addition to improving the processes educational programs and institutional management.
