This research explores the communication channels used by young people from Rio de Janeiro during election periods. With the advancement of social media and the persistence of traditional media, it becomes important to analyze the use of these platforms during electoral periods. It is essential to investigate which communication channels are adopted by young people to express themselves during this time and how these tools impact their level of engagement and voting decisions. Using both qualitative and quantitative methodological approaches, the research analyzed accounts of young people's experiences with electoral communication and applied a structured questionnaire to a sample of 150 young individuals. The results reveal that young people exhibit communication behaviors and preferences distinct from previous generations, highlighting the growing importance of adapting digital media for healthy political communication and addressing current challenges such as fakes news.
