This paper aims to discuss the relevance of critical thinking in individual development.Critical thinking is an essential skill for the integral development of individuals and the full exercise of citizenship. In education, it enables students to develop the ability to analyze information, question arguments, formulate their own ideas, and make informed decisions. The role of the educator, in this context, is to create learning environments that stimulate curiosity, debate, and inquiry, replacing purely transmissive practices with participatory methodologies. Thus, education focused on critical thinking prepares more conscious citizens, capable of intervening responsibly and transformatively in society.
