A DISCUSSION ABOUT TRANSPORT COSTS AND INTERMODALITY IN LOGISTIC ACTIVITIES

Abstract

The  consideration  of  intermodal  transport  routes  may  be  advantageous  in  various situations, as in cases of sale of products for export. It is proposed in this paper, a study on the location of intermodal terminals and a discussion of logistics costs in this area, aiming to assist investment decisions in infrastructure. Preliminary tests conducted using secondary data from a study of routes for export of a product published by GEIPOT (Group Executive Integration of Transport Policy), were used to verify the consistency of the model and illustrate its potential for analysis from the results obtained.
