Abstract

This paper will present a proposal of a battlefield focused approach, as a space of conflict, characterizing the dimensions that have been incorporated over time through the development of technological innovations, but also seeking to highlight the importance of the absorption of innovations. non-technological, characterized by innovative solutions in the field of military doctrine, the organization of military forces and the preparation and use of the Military Expression of National Power. In addition, by applying this approach, some characteristics of present and future wars and conflicts will be discussed, in parallel with the emergence of such innovations, which enhance the occurrence of military transformations (doctrine, human resources competencies and weapons and military systems). equipment), in breach of the current status quo. In addition, the paper will question whether the spatial and technological ambiences for war classification and will briefly present the concept of Omnidimensional Warfare.
The article uses the qualitative approach of exploratory nature, however follows a model of theoretical essay according to Severino (2000), which allows greater freedom for the argumentation, interpretation and judgment of the authors to defend their position in order to raise innovative reflections on these. thought-provoking questions. Thus, to achieve the objectives, the essay was divided into 5 sections: this introduction, a second that reflects on the phenomenon of war, a third that discusses the dimensions of the battlefield, a fourth in which the concept of war is presented. Omnidimensional is the last that weaves the final considerations of the work.
