Considerations on the pacification force employed in Rio de Janeiro
Main Article Content
Abstract
“Whether they want it or not. Whether it reaches our military professional pride or not. It's inevitable. More day, less day, the armed forces will be employed more forcefully, I mean not permanent, but semi-permanent, in guaranteeing law and order, particularly with regard to public security. So I think we have to get used to this situation and, rather than get used to it, get ready. ”(Gen Ex CARDOSO, 2003)
