Africa and Brazil: partnership for development
Main Article Content
Abstract
The object of research was the Brazilian vision for the geostrategic space of sub-Saharan Africa. The epistemological bias assumes that strategic issues and international insertion are complex phenomena, suggesting an interdisciplinary look, with theoretical contributions from Political Science, International Relations, Geopolitics and Military Sciences. Regarding the methodology, the Brazilian foreign policy and the Security & Defense agenda for the region under study were analyzed, as well as the characterization of the geostrategic space, with the mapping of the main actors and dynamics, both in a present and prospective approach. It is estimated that this article may be useful both in broadening the academic debate associated with the emerging issue of the Brazil-Africa relationship, in the context of the Brazilian State's intention to broaden the South-South approach, and in introducing new researchers. in concepts of (re) emerging interest for the international Security & Defense agenda, which finds in Africa a space of increasing demands.
