Abstract
The book studies strategic engagement, one of the streams of Defense Diplomacy, undertaken by rival states in the international arena. The author analyzes the relationship between the United Kingdom and Germany before the First World War, between the US and the USSR during the Cold War and the current Sino-American tensions.
