Terrorism: consequences for EB / 22 - symposium report
Main Article Content
Abstract
This work summarizes the content of sixlectures on terrorism, aiming at identifyingthe consequences for the Brazilian Army incase terrorist acts occur systematically inBrazil. The main ideas were collected duringa symposium promoted by the Army Stafffrom 23 to 25 May, 2006, when speakers withdiversified professional experience in thesubject had the floor. They wererepresentative of diplomacy, intelligence, education and the military. The prospects ofterrorism in Brazil do not signal to terrorismin the same dimension of what has happenedin the United States of America; however thepossibility of occurrence can not bedismissed. A great obstacle today is the lackof legal definition of responsibilitiesconcerning the State's preparation to preventand combat terrorist acts, what affects the Army eventually.
