Abstract

The needs imposed by modern combat determine a constant doctrinal evolution. Updating the doctrinal concepts guiding the preparation and use of the Earth Force is fundamental for its adaptation and survival to these new times of uncertainty. Army Aviation and the Light Infantry Brigade, deployed at the end of the last century, were instrumental in the establishment of the Delta Doctrine by the Army Staff. This doctrine allowed the Earth Force to participate in the 3rd dimension of the battlefield. In-depth action and isolation from the battlefield are missions perfectly applicable to the Light Infantry Brigade. In this context, we sought to verify the realization of circular defense for the maintenance of the Aeromobile Bridgehead. The main characteristic studied about circular defense was the mutual support, aiming to obtain answers about its dimension and, consequently, to identify if the unfolding of the combat support elements inside it would be possible.
