Abstract

The Russian Federation aims to resume and maintain a position of political, economic and military actor of first order within the international system. As part of its national strategy, Russia has been using its ability to project power in order to seek the reconquest of its leading role, increasing its international influence. Challenges, threats and opportunities arising from this more assertive role of the Russian Federation must be understood by the other global actors, including Brazil.
