Cultural intelligence - an imposing subject in the formation of the modern and fundamental military in the situation study: an approach of the indigenous theme in the Amazon

Abstract
In the present article, the author seeks, through the use of "cultural intelligence", to offer a holistic approach to the indigenous theme in the Legal Amazon. Initially, emphasis is placed on the growing importance attached to civilian considerations and the analysis of the “human terrain” in post-industrial conflicts. Next, the rigidity of Cartesian thinking, which has traditionally distinguished the military, is confronted with the intrinsic complexity of safeguarding the rights of pre-Columbian groups, exposing the limitations of positivist logic impregnated with ethnocentric residues. Considering the overcoming of the state integrationist goal and the new directions imposed on Brazilian indigenism by the advent of the Federal Constitution of 1988, which incorporates the anthropological dogma called cultural relativism as the foundation, it is necessary to improve the relationship between the Armed Forces and the communities. autochthonous, providing quality cultural training for the military and providing them with an adequate ethnographic knowledge base.
