Investments in dual-use, civil and military airport infrastructure in the Amazon region a proposal for indicators
Main Article Content
Abstract
The airport infrastructure in support of border military units in the Amazon region is of a strategic nature, as it guarantees mobility and, above all, speed to reach the most distant corners of our country. The objective of this assignment is to propose indicators to facilitate decision-making by managers when investing resources in the region's aerodromes. The methodology adopted consisted of collecting information through documentary and bibliographic research. Pavement type data used in several aerodromes, their estimated useful life, as well as the date of completion of the latest interventions allowed us to predict the need for intervention in each location. The number of aeronautical accidents and incidents at each of the researched aerodromes also served as a subsidy for the intervention proposals. Finally, some recommendations were issued to the Army Command in order to improve the development of airport infrastructure in response to Special Border Platoons and increase the security of air operations.
