Project management and planning of the Brazilian army military operations: contact points, differences and mutual contributions
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Brazilian Army (EB) makes efforts in the search for new administrative technologies that resonate in its effectiveness and operational efficiency; project management is one of these initiatives. The objective of this article is to compare project management’s good practices as prescribed by the Project Management Institute (PMI) to the Situation Analysis practices contained in the Brazilian Army Operational Design Methodology (MCOE) to identify contact points, differences and mutual contributions. Data collection was performed by bibliographic and documentary research and data analysis through data triangulation. It is concluded that most project management practices included in the Situation Analysis are compatible with the activities prescribed in the Brazilian Army Situation Analysis and that some of them may contribute to the improvement of operational planning methodology of the Land Force.
